Metal Detecting

fid badge I am a member of the Federation of Independent Detectorists. I usually dig up Victorian stuff, buttons and things. The fun is wondering what
will be under the next bleep, an item of interest or lately, loads of junk. My detector is a Scanmaster ID (second hand - I would like a copy of the instructions),
with my trusty 1982 Saxon III detector as backup. Here are a few finds.

Ivor detecting. Ivor logging finds. Crotal Bell Royal Engineers Cap Badge. Me wearing headphones
Me in action (relatively speaking) ,Logging finds, A Crotal or Rumbler Bell (it still tinkles), a Royal Engineers Regiment Cap Badge with another stamped badge. Fun of the chase.

Another find in a field was this small bronze Piper figurine.
Have you seen any more like him ? Can you identify him or his maker ? Please let me know.

Portable Antiquities Scheme The PAS has had their funding frozen for three years, But I would
imagine they are still keen to hear about your finds and record them.
